Few years back I had tried using Google AdWords for promoting our products especially our Timesheet.

But I stopped running AdWords campaigns as the money got from timesheet sales was much more lower that the money spent for running the Adword campaigns.

Recently I am getting very low adsense income from Google. I always try to find the opportunity in any negative situation. Similarly, lower adsense income made me to think about running the adWords campaigns again. i-e I assume that I can get good traffic/conversion by spending less on AdWords. My assumption will be wrong if the reduction in Google AdSense is driven by Google's greediness of taking majore share from Adsense income. I believe that Google won't be greedy, therefore I had decided that it is the right time for running adWords campaigns again.

So, Today I have started running the Google Adwords again. This time, I am planning to run the PPC campaigns by applying the lessons learnt from my previous campaigns.

And, I am trying to study more tips for running Google Adwords effectively. While searching for Adwords tips I got a chance to see this infographics. It seems this infographics is very useful for running adwords. So, I am sharing it with my blog readers also.

I had activated the Google Authorship System many months back by following the required steps  such as verifying email, adding profile picture to Google plus profile, adding Authroship markup to our sites and allowing Google plus profile to appear in Search Results.

I could successfully see my Google plus profile picture in the Search Results when I tested from Google Web master tools.

But till today, my Google plus profile picture is NOT appearing in  the Search results. i-e Google Authorship is NOT working for me.

I did some Google search about this problem, and many people suggested to change the Google plus profile picture.

So, today I had changed my Google Plus profile picture. Let us wait for few days to see whether this new profile picture fixes  the problem.

Today (Monday, October 15th, 2012) Google shows an excellent animated Doodle for the 107th anniversary of Winsor McCay's Little Nemo in Slumberland.

Little Nemo is the main fictional character in a series of weekly comic strips by Winsor McCay that appeared in the New York Herald (from October 15, 1905 – July 23, 1911) and William Randolph Hearst's New York American newspapers(September 3, 1911 – July 26, 1914).

The strip was first called Little Nemo in Slumberland and then In the Land of Wonderful Dreams when it changed papers.

The original set-up of the comic revolved around the nightly dreams of a little boy named Nemo (meaning "nobody" in Latin). The purpose of his early dreams was to reach 'Slumberland', the realm of King Morpheus, who wanted him as a playmate for his daughter, the Princess. The last panel in each strip was always one of Nemo waking up, usually in or near his bed, and often being scolded (or comforted) by one of the grownups of the household after crying out in his sleep and waking them.

Watch below the video showing the Google Doodle.

About Winsor McCay

Winsor Zenic McCay was born in Spring Lake, Michigan, perhaps on 26 September 1869.

Winsor McCay is best known for the comic strip Little Nemo (begun 1905) and the animated cartoon Gertie the Dinosaur (1914). For legal reasons, he worked under the pen name Silas on the comic strip Dream of the Rarebit Fiend.

A prolific artist, McCay's pioneering early animated films far outshone the work of his contemporaries, and set a standard followed by Walt Disney and others in later decades. His comic strip work has influenced generations of artists, including creators such as William Joyce, André LeBlanc, Moebius, Maurice Sendak, Chris Ware and Bill Watterson.

Today(Sunday, October 7th, 2012) the Search Engine Google is showing below Doodle on its Home Page for honoring the famous scientists Niels Bohr on his 127th Birth Day anniversary.

The Letter "O" in the "Google" logo is replaced with an hydrogen atom symbol representing the electrons in various orbits.(i-e Bohr model)

And, also it shows release of electromagnetic wave while electron jump from outer orbit (n=3) to inner orbit (n=2). And it shows the relation between the energy difference and the frequency of the emitted wave as δE=hv.

h - plank's constant
v- frequency of the released wave.

Niels Henrik David Bohr was born on October 7, 1885, in Denmark as the son of Christian Bohr, Professor of Physiology at Copenhagen University, and Ellen, née Adler.

Niels Bohr
received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922 for his foundational contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum mechanics.

Niels Bohr mentored and collaborated with many of the top physicists of the century at his institute in Copenhagen.

Niels Bohr married Margrethe Nørlund in 1912, and one of their sons, Aage Bohr also received the Nobel Prize in 1975.

Niels Bohr
Niels Bohr has been described as one of the most influential scientists of the 20th century. Niels Bohr was a passionate footballer too.

  • Niels Bohr was one of the founding fathers of CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in 1954.
  • Niels Bohr Received the first ever Atoms for Peace Award in 1957.
  • In 1965, three years after Bohr's death, the Institute of Physics at the University of Copenhagen changed its name to the Niels Bohr Institute.
  • The Bohr models semicentennial was commemorated in Denmark on 21 November 1963 with a postage stamp depicting Bohr, the hydrogen atom and the formula for the difference of any two hydrogen energy levels.
  • Bohrium (a chemical element, atomic number 107) is named in honour of Bohr.
  • Hafnium, another chemical element, whose properties were predicted by Bohr, was named by him after Hafnia, Copenhagen's Latin name.
  • Asteroid 3948 Bohr is named after him.
  • The Centennial of Bohr's birth was commemorated in Denmark on 3 October 1985 with a postage stamp depicting Bohr with his wife Margrethe.
  • In 1997 the Danish National Bank started circulating the 500-krone banknote with the portrait of Bohr smoking a pipe.

Bohr–Einstein debates

The Bohr–Einstein debates were a series of public disputes about quantum mechanics between Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr, who were two of its founders.

Their debates are remembered because of their importance to the philosophy of science.

Niels Bohr had written about these debates in an article titled "Discussions with Einstein on Epistemological Problems in Atomic Physics".

Despite their differences of opinion regarding quantum mechanics, Bohr and Einstein had a mutual admiration that was to last the rest of their lives.

Prediction is very difficult, especially about the future.

Stop telling God what to do with his dice.

If quantum mechanics hasn't profoundly shocked you, you haven't understood it yet.

Never express yourself more clearly than you are able to think.

The opposite of a fact is falsehood, but the opposite of one profound truth may very well be another profound truth.

Google has started establishing close integration between its video sharing web site YouTube and Social networking product Google+.

Few days back, when I signed-in to my YouTube account, a wizard like screen was shown for allowing my YouTube channel  to use my Google+ profile name.

i-e My YouTube Channel will show the Channel name as "Rajamanickam Antonimuthu" instead of "qualitypointtech" while the URL still uses the word "qualitypointtech"

After doing this change, I am seeing my Google Plus profile link in my YouTube Channel page.

And, I came to know that we can add Google+ profile page or any Google+ Post URL as Link in the YouTube video annotations. Previously we can use only the YouTube links.

Recently I did some analysis about the growth potential for the YouTube videos, and I came to know that there is a huge growth potential  for YouTube.

So, I am planning to use YouTube effectively. Right now we are working on uploading inspiring and motivational Quotes videos. And, we plan to upload many useful videos in near future. So, you can subscribe to our YouTube Channel to get the updates about our coming videos.

Google is showing one new Doodle everyday starting from the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

We can refer the list of Doodles shown by Google for the London 2012 Olympics.

First Eleven Doodle were Static images, and the recent Doodles are interactive animated Doodles.

Google Doodle becomes the trending topic in many Social Media Sites especially in Twitter once after Google starts showing interactive animated Doodles which allow the users to play the interesting games on Google homepage itself.

For example, the Hurdles Doodle allows the users to get scores by making the player in the Doodle to run/jump the Hurdles race using space bar and Left/Right Arrows keys.

You can play it here.

Similarly the BaseketBall Doodle is also attracting the people to spend their time on Google website.

You can play it now.

And, Slalom Canoe is also interactive animation Doodle.

Basically these interactive Doodles attract lot of people to use Google Search Engine.

And, on clicking the Doodle image Google will search results for the related things. For example, if we click on Javelin Doodle image, Google will show the search results for "London 2012 Javelin". And, Google has special results page for showing Olympics matches and current medal table.

The animated Doodles will work only on HTML5 supported web browsers, the other browsers will see only static images.

i-e If you see this in "Internet explorer", you won't see the animated doodle. i-e you can't play the game. So, most of IE users will be encouraged to use HTML5 supported browsers such as Google Chrome.

And, Google is encouraging the users to share the Doodle on their Google+ page. I think it will help Google to promote Google+.

Today I have noticed that Google is showing Summary information at right side bar while searching some kind of keywords like famous person name (e.g Obama), Places (e.g New York City, Delhi), Books, and Films.

For example, when I searched for "Abraham Lincoln", Google showed photo of Abraham Lincoln, brief introduction about Lincon, a link to wikipedia page about Lincoln, and key details like Born, Height, Spouse, and Children.

It seems this new feature is working on Mozilla Firefox only. When I tested it in Google Chrome, it didn't work. And, it works only if I have logged in with my Google Account.

I am not sure whether I am just noticing the old feature of Google today only, or Google is going to release it in future. Because I haven't seen any updates in Google official blogs in recent days. You can share your thoughts thro' the comments section if you know more about this new feature.

updates on May 18
Google has given more details about this new feature. This new feature is part of Google's new initiative "Knowledge Graph".

This Article is a Guest Post.

Blogger threaded commenting allows readers to reply to two types of comments; original comments and their replies. This means more discussions on a single topic and multiple people having back and forth discussions. This is indeed a marvelous feature of blogging but sometimes it can be a menace for the blogger.

The old style is better

There are many who still advocate the old style, and find it simpler and more convenient. They do so for the following reasons:
·        All readers can be answered with a single reply which helps keep things simple
·        Distinguishing between the comments of the author and the visitor can be done very easily
·        Since there are no additional scripts, this saves a lot of time
·        As a result of the simplicity and ease of understanding, the page reviews increase.

The blogger threaded comments face a couple of problems. For example when users click on the blog post link or heading, the control direct them to the blog post’s top instead of the commenting section i.e. the user is taken to the bottom of the page which is the comment box, as a result of this, ad sense revenue and page views are lost. So this problem needs to be addressed. Also it so happens that the user ends up giving reply to the same comments or repeated questions. This poses a lot of problem for the readers as they have to search the admin comments and are unable to find the answers already posted. So in order to resolve this problem, following is a means to remove blogger threaded commenting.
Means to reduce blogger threaded commenting
A simple method to reduce blogger threaded comments is to first
·        Go to blogger , then ‘design’ and after that ‘edit HTML’
·        Back up your template
·        Check the option that says Expand the Widget Templates
·        Then look for the setup code.
·        This problem can easily be then solved by changing that setup code and replacing it with another coded script. Remember that since the former code will be given two times in the blog so they both need to be replaced with the appropriate code.

·        Next step is to save the template and this process is done, furthermore the commenting area needs to be checked, it should appear in a commenting format that is normal.
The simple solution to curb the problem of blogger threaded comments can be to keep visiting your blogs to check if things are back to normal or not. If the above procedure to curb blogger threaded comments is working properly then the page will not jump to comment box and posts will load in a normal fashion. Ad sense page impressions and page views will increase.
Another problem with blogger threaded comments
It so happens that when the blogger threaded comment feature has been enabled the user can view it in Internet Explorer 9 but not in the previous versions, this problem is being checked by the blogger engineers and soon they will be able to curb it.

Recently Blogger has started redirecting the Blogger blogs (i-e .blogspot.com sits) to country-specific ccTLD according to the location of the user.

i-e You will be seeing this Blogger blog "qualitypoint.blogspot.com" as qualitypoint.blogspot.in if you visit this blog from India. Similarly, an Australian visitor will see this as qualitypoint.blogspot.au

This change affects the Blogger users in various ways. Alexa ranks started appearing separately for each country specific domains. So, it is difficult to show the Alexa rank as proof of Good Traffic for getting Direct advertisements.

Today, I came to know about another impact of this Blogger Change.

I have noticed that URL Channel in Google AdSense Report is showing the pageviews only for the .com  (e.g qualitypoint.blogspot.com) version of Blogger Blog. They are NOT including the adSense pageviews for the other ccTLDs.

Anyway, "Sites" section of the AdSense report is showing the pageview details for the ccTLDs also.

Today (January 11th, 2012) Google shows special Doodle  for marking the 374th birth Day of Nicolas Steno, the Danish anatomist widely regarded as the father of geology.

The doodle illustrates the each letter in the Word "Google"  in a geological style, with fossils in various bottom layers, with a green surface on top.

Nicolas Steno was a Danish Catholic cleric and scientist who was a pioneer in both anatomy and geology. Pope John Paul II beatified Steno in 1987. (Beatification is the third of the four steps in the canonization process. A person who is beatified is given the title "Blessed".)

As a young man, Steno set out to study medicine, leaving his native Copenhagen in his early 20s for the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. He then studied anatomy in Italy, where his research on shark teeth led him to question, among other things, how one solid object could be found inside another — such as with fossils. His ideas on “solid bodies within bodies” were published in 1669 in his seminal Prodromus dissertation.
Steno, however, would soon leave science behind. Born into a Lutheran family, he converted to Catholicism and was ordained as a priest in 1675 and became a titular bishop two years later.

Google has started showing "Happy Holidays" Doodle from today onwards.

Below Doodle is getting displayed on Home page of Google Today (December 23rd 2011).

On clicking this Doodle, Google shows search results for the search Term "Happy Holidays".

While Google uses the word "Happy Holidays" for greeting its users, it seems many Americans prefer to greet using the words "Merry Christmas".

A new survey finds Americans by a wide margin prefer the traditional “Merry Christmas” greeting to the non-specific “Happy Holidays.”

According this Survey done by "Knights of Columbus-Marist Pol" nearly two-thirds of adults (64%) think people should say, “Merry Christmas,” while less than one-third (31%) believe the appropriate greeting is “Happy Holidays.”

Ok. Which one you prefer to say? Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas? You can  share your thoughts thro' the comments.

We wish you all Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

Today Google shows below Doodle in its Homepage to celebrate 84th Birthday of Robert Noyce who founded Intel. The Doodle is showing the drawing of a Integrated Chip.

Robert Noyce has the nickname "Mayor of Silicon Valley."

A noted visionary and natural leader, Robert Noyce helped to create a new industry when he developed the technology that would eventually become the microchip.

Robert Norton Noyce was born on December 12, 1927, in Burlington, Iowa, Unites States.

Robert Noyce ran two of the companies that had the greatest impact on the silicon industry: Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel. He also invented the integrated chip (IC), one of the stepping stones along the way to the microprocessors in today's computers. Microchip (IC) is a critical element for modern electronic devices including personal computers, smartphones, video games, microwaves, and cars.

He co-founded Fairchild Semiconductor in 1957. Fairchild was the first successful silicon company. Noyce and Gordon E. Moore founded Intel in 1968. Noyce was granted 15 patents for his inventions in Semiconductor devices field.

At both companies Fairchild and Intel, Noyce introduced a very casual working atmosphere, the kind of atmosphere that has become a cultural stereotype of how California companies work.

Noyce died of heart failure in 1990, at the age of 62.

In his last interview, Noyce was asked what he would do if he were "emperor" of the United States. He said that he would, among other things, "make sure we are preparing our next generation to flourish in a high-tech age. And that means education of the lowest and the poorest, as well as at the graduate school level."
