Spain has qualified itself at the Top of the Group for a semi finals berth in the U-19 European Championships being held in Lithuania. The 2 - 3 victory over Holland puts the Spanish U-19 Football Team into their fourth consecutive U-19 Euro semi-final where they will meet France next Monday.

Holland completed their warm-up campaign for Euro 2012 with 6-0 victory over Northern Ireland side at Amsterdam ArenA. The visitors were forced to defence in their own half, but that only helped them to reduce Holland lead in the first half to 4-0. Holland's violent feat in the World Cup final has landed the Dutch FA a paltry fine of £9,244.

Eight Holland players were revealed yellow cards and one - John Heitinga - was sent off by English referee Howard Webb through the most ill-disciplined World Cup final in history. FIFA yesterday responded with a nominal fine, a sum which looks even lesser set against the £15m awarded to the Dutch for dying runners-up.

Champions Spain were themselves fined £6,162 for individual shown five yellow cards, but it is the punishment of Holland, whose plans were condemned as 'anti-football' by Johan Cruyff, which will dismay the football world. The Dutch FA also face a recompense claim from Bayern Munich, who have reacted angrily to news that Arjen Robben will be sidelined for eight weeks as a result of his early return from a hamstring wound sustained in a warm-up game to play five matches at the World Cup.

Tests have since found that a constrain tear was not properly diagnosed earlier.

Jermain Defoe scored two goals to secure a 2-2 draw for England national team. Defoe’s two goals came in second hold after Holland took a lead on first half after mistakes by Rio Ferdinand and Gareth Barry. Fabio Capello was also impressed by his team reaction on second after which saw Defoe, Cole and James Milner shining.
