Basically, I want to write a little more about pop culture in the coming months. One of the ways I thought I could do it is writing on award shows. There is no real need for a full written recap, but a bunch of random thoughts about it are probably good. This one will be longer than others because I had to watch it on the DVR versus live meaning I could not some of these as Tweets.

Hey Taylor Swift, I thought it would be a good idea to do a post-awards show recaps from here until I stop doing the SnoTap game, what's your thoughts on it?

Umm... Okay.... Well I am still going to do it, do not take your anger out on me because former boyfriend Harry Styles of One Direction is getting all the praise and glory from the females at the VMA audience.

-Where did Lady Gaga find those seashells? I hope not the water around New York City, I hear that's not great water but what do I know, I do not start performances off with a box on my face.

- Let it be known for the record, I would pay money to see Lady Gaga if she came to Milwaukee. I do not know what this says about me, but yeah, I think she's pretty awesome. Cannot explain it. I am sure this is tied to my fascination with Cara Maria from the Challenges.

- Look I know some people on Twitter were upset about Katy Perry rocking a turtleneck, but maybe I am alone here, she still rocks it pretty great.

- WHO THE HELL GREENLIT THAT AWFUL MILEY CYRUS IMPERSONATOR

- Is Miley's bear suit a tribute to Kanye West's College Dropout days?

- I feel like I need a teddy bear backpack for all my adventures in the coming weekends here. That's a power move backpack.

- Molly has hit the mainstream as it is bleeped out tonight. Need to find a new designer drug, white collar kids!!

- Robin Thicke looks like he stole his suit from 5th street or any other street in New York City, seriously I do not think any race or person can pull that off.

- Miley just rubs a foam finger all over Robin Thicke's junk. A chick tried to grab my junk in an empty bar and I did not act nonchalant like Thicke did, I need to take notes from Mr. Thicke apparently.

- How many whiskeys did Billy Ray Cyrus pound after seeing this one? I am going to say at least ten.

-People freaked out and rush to judgment about Miley's performance and called it 'not classy' among other things.  Let's remember she has never been busted with drugs, alcohol or any of the other warning signs of young Hollywood.  She is actually pretty clean with a twerking problem.

- KING KENDRICK DO THE CONTROL VERSE INSTEAD, SCREW THIS VERSE ON A ROBIN THICKE SONG.

- Good to see Lil Kim's face more far back than centerfield at Ebbets Field.  Although never forget Diana Ross flicked her boob pasty in one of the more puberty altering dresses.

- I had no idea Mackelmore did not have a record deal. I am not the biggest fan of his personally, but the fact he blew up the way he did throughout 2013 without a deal and getting the radio play is absolutely incredible. Kudos to him.

- I am going to be in Green Bay in two weeks with SnoTap Writer Pat Luce and I think we can make him look like Macklemore or at least convince women, he's Mackelmore.

- How does Jared Leto keep showing up in places?  Seriously, I realize he is in 30 Seconds to Mars and they are fine and dandy, but Leto annoys me. I have no idea why he bothers me, but screw you Jared.

- Kanye going with 'Blood on the Leaves', one of my favorite songs off Yeezus, glad that's the next song to get a push off Yeezus

- YEEZY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CENSORS MTV.

- Maybe it is because I am a Kanye fanboy, but I feel very comfortable saying I will be seeing Kanye when he goes on the 'Yeezus' tour. It will be a darker show, but he still tears up a stage.

- So this is the performance Viacom had to have on the VMA's instead of having Daft Punk come on the Colbert Report?  Very lame.

- I, one time, wore a silver shirt on stage in the fifth grade as I performed 'All Star' by Smash Mouth. Yes that happened and there is no video. Thank Yeezus.

- That's the first time in Taylor Swift's career where she won an award and did not act surprised when she won it. Progress, Taylor. Can I also say I have done like a 90 degree shift on her?  Basically, I am not annoyed with her as much anymore.

- Which boyfriend was 'I Knew You Were Trouble'?  I am going to guess John Mayer.

- Only Justin Timberlake can make escalators somehow look cool. JT is probably a top three coolest dudes in America, right? Just respect from all corners of the earth.

- Remember when 'Sexy Back' actually receives some criticism because it was definitely outside of the box at the time and then people just got used to it because... JT.

- With JT performing 'Let Me Love You' and 'Cry Me a River', we might as well bring them back into the mainstream. Also Cry Me A River is a top five break-up song for me. Just a fantastic way to tell off your significant other.

- They ran through JT's greatest hits and that's fantastic. Let's not forget he has another album coming out in late September. Curious to see whether there will be some contrast with 20/20 Experience.

- NSYNC BACK!

- Joey Fatone really took his last name seriously huh? Fat-One am I right guys?  We have a long way to go with this blog I am sorry.

- At the wedding I was at on Friday night, the DJ played 'Bye Bye Bye' and I will be dammed if my buddy Shannon and I knew the whole dance and had the entire wedding looking at us. If you don't think I am requesting 'Bye Bye Bye' at all future weddings, you're crazy. I also may have been overserved.

- MUST WE SHOW EVERY T-SWIFT REACTION?!?!?  Really MTV should just have Swifty cam as she was shown dancing to JT at least five times. Ed Sheeran, you ain't competing with JT and he's married, best of luck dude.

- Justin Timberlake, that was a great performance but you look like you are ready to cut the turkey at the first Thanksgiving dinner.

- Kevin Hart really liked Lady Gaga's ass. I think he made that loud and clear.

- Vampire Weekend calling One Direction 'One D' is some kind of hilarious, but I take some exception with calling it the 'Song of the Summer'.  I realize all their fans voted like crazy and that's why they won, but it's clearly 'Blurred Lines' or 'Get Lucky' without question. When the song is spanning three to five different radio stations, that's a song of the summer.

- Macklemore might be someone I would be mildly interested in seeing in concert. He sounded good enough for me to believe that.

- Austin Mahone is going to have a really big 2014. I am going to put that out there and remember I said it. Bieber is getting too old and the young teenage girls need a new heartthrob. He also sounds like a massive tool so it all works.

- MAHOMIES?!! IS THIS CAT SERIOUS?!  Yikes.

- Guess who finally made into Drake's entourage? Yes, the answer is Brandon Jennings. Apparently, if you tweet enough lyrics of his, he will put you in his clique. Although Johnny Manziel getting the shaft here is disappointing.

- Apparently, Drake is going to make YMCA jerseys the new 'in' thing and I mean, that's a logical next step in fashion.

- I will never understand Bruno Mars. He's probably one of the 10 biggest pop artists in the world and I just fail to grasp the concept of why he's popular. I enjoy some of his music, but most of the time, I just miss the boat.

- SOMEHOW A PILGRIM CAN PERFORM MUSIC!  Glad to see Justin Timberlake won Video of the Year. One of the best songs of the year. He will probably be taking home some Grammys as well in February. Hard to see how he does not.

- Why throughout the show is 'Roar' according to MTV, her biggest song to date?  Based off downloads, radio plays in a short span?

- Pretty cool background having the Brooklyn Bridge, but there is not much to Katy Perry's performance that screams one of the memorable ones in VMA history. This will probably be the NSYNC reunion and Miley grinding all over Robin Thicke.

Late yesterday afternoon, Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski and ESPN.com's Marc Stein reported that the Bucks and Pistons had moved on a deal that would send the Bucks' first round pick from the 2009 NBA Draft, the enigmatic Brandon Jennings, to Detroit for a package centered around Detroit's eighth overall selection in the 2011 NBA Draft.

The other players coming over from Detroit are Khris Middleton and Ukrainian center Slava Kravtsov.

I'd say about 90 percent of the reaction to this trade in Milwaukee is extremely positive. If the Bucks RealGM board is mostly happy about it, you know that Bucks GM John Hammond might have actually won a trade for once.

One Pistons RealGM poster came over to the Bucks trade thread and said that Milwaukee got their Tobias Harris. I'm guessing by that he means he's a forward that looked very good in limited playing time. Apparently, he's shown good ability to knock down threes and can defend pretty well. Hopefully he can develop into the all important 3 and D man.

My personal reaction is I'm thrilled for multiple reasons:

The first is that Brandon Jennings needed to go. He was becoming a cancer to the organization year in and year out with his on/off switch (meaning if he gets criticized for not being a passing PG, he'll go out and collect 15+ assists for three or four games in a row then go back to chucking) and him quitting on the team after every All-Star after not making it each year.

It seems like the fans in Wisconsin absolutely will not put up with that kind of attitude and why should they?

The second reason is that not only did the Bucks not extend Jennings for multiple years like many fans had feared they traded him for three guys that are young and seem to have some good upside. As I mentioned Knight was the eighth overall pick in the 2011 draft and is only 21 years old. He was one of the top prospects in the draft that year but dropped to eighth for one reason or another. He hasn't been anything to write home about in his first two years in the NBA but I'm intrigued to see what Larry Drew and Nick Van Exel can do for his development. From everything I've read, Knight is a high character, hard-worker that spends a lot of time in the gym working to get better.

I've already mentioned that I'm happy with Middleton being included in the deal. As far as Kravtsov, I'm not even sure he'll make the team as the Bucks are now one over the maximum roster limit and somebody has to go. I'm guessing he'll battle it out with fellow newly acquired Euro center Miroslav Raduljica. PG Ish Smith should also be on alert because the Bucks now have Knight, Luke Ridnour, and Nate Wolters to run the point.

The third reason I'm excited is (assuming the Bucks don't make a mediocre splash move and acquire a decent small forward) it would appear that the stealth tank is on. That, or Hammond and coach Drew have finally caught Herb slippin' and he agreed to letting youth play this year, allowing the Bucks to play for a good draft pick in the vaunted 2014 NBA Draft.

I really won't get my hopes up and truly believe this is the case. I mean, we all know better than that.

Yet another reason I'm excited is that the Bucks now should have rid themselves of their large egos and seem to have nothing but high character, hard-working guys. They've gone out and acquired some blue collar guys that Milwaukee can enjoy watching. Guys like Knight, Ridnour, Zaza Pachulia and even Gary Neal, who can bring some San Antonio Spurs class with him...hopefully.

My only worry is OJ Mayo may have some cockiness to him but I'll wait to see him play a few games before I judge. Also, I've read some rumblings that LARRY SANDERS! became "uncoachable"  and his head got big after he became an impact player for the Bucks.

Most fans refuse to believe this, myself included. I think it comes down to Larry being a competitor and got sick of Jennings and Ellis playing selfish/average ball every night. He's the leader of this team...at least I hope he steps up and becomes the leader because he seems to have some great leadership qualities. He wants to "revitalize the culture" in Milwaukee and he apparently wants to stay here for his entire career. The Bucks never hear that. Make it happen, Johnny.

Above all, this trade signals a changing of the guard for Milwaukee basketball and I'm pretty excited to see what happens in the next few seasons.
