Sometimes on Twitter, people really do not have anything better to do. They get bored whether they are at work, home or running around doing God knows what. But people like to make overgeneralizing statements that sometimes can catch on like wildfire and lead to a hell storm of people overreacting. I know because I have done both parts of this many a time. Today's topic was Eddie Lacy's weight.  Lacy, the rookie running back for the Green Bay Packers, is under the microscope because he played on the best, most public team in college football and he plays on one of the top three most public NFL teams. Here's the picture in question.

This took off like a wildfire. NFL Twitter looked like the pages of US Weekly or In Touch where they are reacting to some actor or actress with an out of control weight gain (Another thing totally warped about our society, but I digress). Whether it was the Internet being cynical, or people being smarter than just judging one picture, the investigation was on to debunk the theory that Eddie Lacy was a fatass.  Andy Hutchins of Deadspin gave us this two images (Here & here) and also provided a video where he looked very trim. Also Curt Hogg of Reviewing The Brew saw Lacy with his own eyes and talked to him too.

Other sleuths pointed to ESPN Wisconsin's Jason Wilde's Vine account which featured Lacy in a passing drill featured here.

As you can see Lacy is not packing on the pounds like an actor refusing to wear a fat suit. In fact, he looks good. In fact, I hope he creates a virtual bulletin board like Carrie Mathison will probably do at some point in the future Homeland season so he can dedicate every truck stick to the people whom called him fat. Hell I know I would.
