The Challenge has been great this season. I feel like we are watching one of the best ones ever. I would have to rewatch everyone to make that distinction, but there are so many storylines to talk about with this season. Adam Hatlak, our fantasy sports writer, is also a Challenge enthusiant as he wrote about it for us last year wanted to pick some mid-season awards and I definitely obliged.
Show Me More Award
ADAM: This has to be Johnny Bananas. A four time champion of the challenge, Johnny is usually the focus of any story lines that dominate the season. This year is completely different. I have forgotten on multiple occasions that Johnny is on this version of the challenge, and his one challenge win was a nice reminder. I like Johnny this season more than I usually do, when he actually is on screen. I'd like to see a fight between him and Frank, or a head-to-head matchup with CT and Wes.

Show Me More Award

CHARLIE: Camila. If y'all know your country, I feel like Hunter Hayes right now which is sort of weird seeing as we look nothing alike, not even close. Hayes says 'I want crazy' as the theme of his latest popular song and I want it, need it from Camila. She really has not had the one drunken freakout where you remember why she will be a Challenge cast member until she does not want to anymore. Honorable mention nod to Frank because I have not been pissed off at him much yet and it's clear he's a wee bit scared of the competition.
Best Competitor:
Best Competitor:
CHARLIE: Emily. She is an absolute beast. The most impressive girl on this Challenge. It's been awhile, but they use to do individual Challenges where everyone was their own team and actually they were great seasons. I would love to see one where she is battling against Ev for the right of the 'Strongest women', both are great.
ADAM: It has to be Emily. She's the lead member of the most dominant team in the game. The only chance any of the girls have at getting a win in this challenge is to hope Emily/Paula don't win a challenge in the week where the elimination round can be won in fluke fashion.
Worst Competitor:
Worst Competitor:
ADAM: Dunbar/Tyrie. Both competitors have always been extremely overrated, and that is why they win this award. If they were competitors that didn't talk a big game, or didn't look like they should be good at the Challenge, their first round performance and elimination would not have looked so bad. The problem is, is that they continuously think they are going to be great. They are always terrible. Don't bring them back please.
CHARLIE: Zach. Okay I realize this is a weird way to put it as Zach won some Challenges with Trey and he won the whole thing last year but hear me out. The shit he pulled on the last episode was by far one of the most over-the-top things in Challenge history. I will talk about it more in the ratings, but just no real reason for him to be an idiot like that. Zach also solidifies his spot on Challenges for a long time.
Best Moment:
CHARLIE: I watch a bunch of movie trailers for SnoTap and sometimes you'll see them say 'X actor was a Tour De Force.' This is what CT was in the first couple episode. An absolute 'Tour De Force.' He hooked up with a couple chicks, nearly choked out Marlon basically completing the CT Triple Play only missing him punching something as well. CT is awesome and I am glad he returned to the Challenge scene.
ADAM: I'll give it to the Marlon/Jordan breakout. Not only have they been involved in multiple hookups for each player, but they've held their own in drama, and won some competitions. The narrative has not changed from rookies are no longer the first people eliminated, as that still happens all the time. But Jordan and Marlon's narrative should be they are too impressive to get rid of and gained respect of the veterans. I have always liked Marlon, but I was not a fan of Jordan at all on his season of the Real World, this season however, is much different.
Worst Look:
Worst Look:
ADAM: Wes' reaction to the Leroy/Theresa hookup was just terrible. He can absolutely be upset with the business that was happening in the upper bunk while he tried to sleep, but to call Leroy insecure, when it clearly is not the case just makes Wes look bad. It never seemed like Wes invested much time in Theresa to begin with, so I don't even know why he is responding so poorly, but he definitely looked bitter. Don't forget Leroy put Wes to shame a bit on Exes.
CHARLIE: Knight in general. He obsessively stirred the pot this season already like HEY GUYS LOOK AT ME, SUCH A POT STIRRER!!! The shit he pulled with Marlon could not have been more ignorant and then the ketchup stuff could not have been more stupid. Knight looks like an assclown.
Charlie's Predictions
I have no idea whose going to win with the guy's group, everyone is equal
I have no idea whose going to win with the guy's group, everyone is equal
Jordan will have a massive freakout leading to their exit.
Nany will also have a freakout because she's due for one.
Ty and Roy Lee find a way into the final.
There will be an attempt to put Paula/Emily in The Jungle if they don't win a Challenge.
Adam's Predictions:
Leroy will continue to be one of my favorite cast members.
Diem will still get more camera time than is necessary. I have a lot of respect for what she has overcome, but other than that, hasn't been that impressive this season.
CT/Wes and Frank/Johnny will try to throw each other as the finals get near.
The large group of ladies that are tough to differentiate will have to turn on each other. Nany, Jasmine, Jonna, Camilla, Jemmye, Theresa. Honestly how does anyone remember who is on who's team?
I'll keep watching, as this has been one of the better seasons in a while.
